CO2 Fire Extinguishing System

 

The system is a most effective for protection of engine room, pump room and paint store as well as cargo hold with or without smoke

sampling system under ;

 

Advantages ;

- Non-corrosive

- Does not conduct electricity

- Leaves no residue to clean up

- Fairly easy to store(Not subject to loss in quality with age)

 

Disadvantages ;

- Highly asphyxiating(suffocative)

- Even if discharge CO2 is cold, It has little cooling effect-Danger of re-ignition if air is readmitted.

- When discharge, particles of solid carbon dioxide may generate static electricity(CO2 is not inert medium)

 

         

 

High pressure type

The system is a fixed system, composed of CO2 cylinders, discharge valve, nozzle, activating controller and safety device, etc.

Small or large numbers of CO2 cylinders will be stored in the one or two CO2 room along with rigid clamps.

The system shall be designed under total flooding, semi-total flooding or manual release system as demanded.

The system can be combined with smoke sampling system by means of three-way valves for cargo hold protection.

 

Low pressure type

The system is a also fixed system, composed of  CO2 storage tank, refrigeration unit, discharge valve, nozzle, activating controller and safety device, etc. as well as CO2 filling cabinet.

CO2 will be stored in a pressure vessel in which CO2 in liquid phase is cooled down to a temperature of -20 Deg. C. whereby the vaporization pressure is being reduced to approximately 20 bars under dual set of independent driven fresh water cooled refrigeration units.

 

Deck Foam Fire Extinguishing System

 

ASKtech system make use of the smothering and cooling effects to extinguish fire which are secured by foam layer covering the burning surface and shutting off air supply to the seat of fire.

The systems are comprised by monitors, applicators, hose connections and mixer, etc as well as foam and sea water supply pumps.

The system shall be designed into 3% or 6% foam concentrate along with balanced mixer.

     

 

Sprinkler or Water Mist System

The system is designed to protect accommodation spaces and other service spaces on the vessels such as passenger ships and car ferries etc.

It is most effective to extinguish fire in early stage.

As known, about 70% of all fires have been extinguished by less than three sprinkler heads.

 

Conventional Automatic Sprinkler System

The system, low pressure is an automatic, fast response, water mist system, composed of glass bulb nozzles, sections of sprinklers, non-corrosive steel piping, control valves, alarm panels, filter, pump controls and a pressure tank, etc.

 

Equivalent Automatic Sprinkler System

The system, high pressure is an automatic, fast response, water mist system, composed of glass bulb nozzles, sections of sprinklers, non-corrosive steel piping, control valves, alarm panels, filter, pump controls and a pressure tank, etc.

Approved for use as an automatic water sprinkler system alternatively in lieu of conventional sprinkler system.

 

Water Based Fixed Fire Extinguishing System for Engine Room and Pump Room

This is a water mist system, composed of open nozzles, non-corrosive steel piping, manual section valves, filter, electric motor and pump, etc.

The system, high or low pressure is designed in accordance with IMO MSC/Circ. 668/728/1165.

Approved for use as a fire extinguishing system in lieu of fixed gas system, high expansion foam system or pressure-water spraying system.

 

Fixed Water Based Local Application System

The system, high or low pressure is a water mist system, composed of open nozzles, non-corrosive piping, automatic section valves, filter, electric motor and pump, etc.

The system shall apply to machinery space category A for passenger ships of 500 gross tonnage and above and cargo ships of 2000 gross tonnage and above.

The system should provide localized fire suppression in areas, without the necessity of engine shut down, personnel evacuation, shutting down of forced ventilation fans or the sealing of the space.

 

Water Spray System

External or internal water spay/curtain systems are a class requirement. We design, deliver and classify these systems in accordance with rule and regulation of specific government authority and classification society.

 

For Special Category Spaces ;

The system is installed in accordance with IMO Resolution A.123(V).

Approved nozzles will be arranged to secure an even distribution of water at a rate of 3.5lpm/m2 for space with a deck height not exceeding 2.5meters and a rate of 5.0lpm/m2 for spaces whit deck height of 2.5 meter or more.

 

For Cooling the Cargo Holds ;

Cargo spaces for transporting Class 1 goods, except exception goods, are to be fitted with arrangements for the application of water spray.

The volume of water required is to be determined on the basis of 5.0lpm/m2 of the largest horizontal cross section of the cargo space or a dedicated section of it.

Cooling of adjoining cargo and machinery space bulkheads is also to be considered.

 

For Cargo Tank Area and Outside of Accommodation Area ;

ASKtech offers the systems in accordance with IGC code referring to USCG.

Outside of the accommodation bulkheads and cargo tank areas are protected on the basis of 4.0lpm/m2 for cargo tank area and bulkhead areas and/or 10.0lpm/m2 for valves on there.

 

Dry Chemical Powder Fire Extinguishing System

ASKtech system is designed to delivering powder from at the least two hand hose lines or combination monitor/hand hose lines to any part of the above-deck exposed cargo area including above-deck product piping.

The system is also designed to activate by an inert gas, used exclusively for this purpose and stored in pressure vessels adjacent to powder containers.

          

 

External Fi-Fi System

ASKtech offers external fi-fi system for ocean-going tug, supply vessels, escort boat, municipal fire boats and oil skimmer boats, etc.

Fire monitors, electric or hydraulic operated, has been adopted to controls remotely by means of controller and portable controller.

The system shall be delivered with fire fighting pump and step-up gear boxes even diesel engine as demanded.

 

Oil Dispersant System

ASKtech offers environmentally friend oil dispersant system with pump unit or without pump unit as demanded.

Monitor or spray boom is recommended to spray out oil dispersant liquid by means of supply unit.

Dispersing oil spills by applying a film of chemicals on the spill surface. Pure chemicals or sea water mixed chemicals applied.
